The tennis team lines up for player introductions before its home match against Swartz Creek on April 30.

The tennis team lost to Brandon on April 7 at home 6-2.

Only two flights won: the No. 4 singles flight and the No. 2 doubles flight.

Junior Alysa Figgins, at No. 4 singles, defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-2.

At No. 2 doubles, juniors Aysia Booth and Makenzie Schroeder also won their match, 6-4, 7-5.

Even though most of the flights lost, junior Jasmine Patrick believed, overall, the team played well.

“We haven’t been shut out this season, which is a pretty good accomplishment for the team,” Patrick said. “It was very hot out yesterday, so it made it a bit harder to play. But, overall, it was a good match.”

The Hornets next match is at home on April 13 against Holly.
