Tennis strikes out against Holly

Freshman Stephanie Lane, at No. 2 doubles, lost her match 6-1, 6-1 against Holly on Monday, May 9.

The tennis team fell to Holly 8-0 on Monday, May 9.

According to Coach Corey Fisher each team played with a great amount of effort.

There were some solid performances from players, including singles players seniors Lindsay Nofs and Alysa Figgins.

At No. 1 singles, Nofs played an impressive match but ended up losing 6-1, 6-2.

Figgins also put up a fight but in the end lost 6-1, 6-2.

Another strong match came from the No. 2 doubles team of senior Aysia Booth and freshman Stephanie Lane.

They gave it their all, but they eventually lost 6-1, 6-1.

Lane thinks that the match was difficult.

“Holly was definitely a tough opponent to play against,” Lane said. “I think everyone on the team did really well, though. We tried our best and gave it our all.”

The Hornets’ next match is Tuesday, May 10, against Bay City Central.
