The cheer team hits a motion during round one at the regional competition on Feb. 28.

Kearsley took 10th place at the MHSAA regional competition on Feb. 28 at Holly.

The top four placing teams who qualified to compete in the state competition were Gibraltar Carlson, Divine Child, Allen Park, and Brandon.

The cheer team earned 214.2 points for round one, 201.52 points for round two, and 273.3 points for round three.

Kearsley was 66.98 points away from tying for fourth place.

Sophomore Hailey Baltosser said she was proud of her teams “ability to come together” during the competition.

“KVC (Kearsley Varsity Cheerleading) had a few obstacles today, but we really came together as a team and strived to compete the best we could,” Baltosser said. “We gave it our all, and that is what really matters above winning any trophy.”

This was Kearsley’s last competition of the season.
