United drops game to Grand Blanc

The hockey team took on Grand Blanc at home Saturday, Dec. 9, losing 4-3.

The team is made up of players from Kearsley, Holly, Brandon, and Lake Fenton.

United fell behind early, allowing two Grand Blanc goals in the first period.

The team got on the board in the second period, but was still down 3-1 at the intermission.

Two goals were scored in the third period to bring United within one goal, but Grand Blanc was able to hold off United for the victory.

Kearsley junior Tyler Keller allowed all four Grand Blanc goals and posted a .857 save percentage.

Kearsley senior Dru Sweers, who leads the team with 15 points, received two assists in the game.

Lake Fenton senior Aidan Flick scored a goal and an assist.

Senior Alec Copeland and sophomore Brendan Ignash, who both attend Lake Fenton, each scored a goal in the game.

Kearsley junior Devin Smith received an assist.

The team had trouble staying out of the penalty box, amassing 30 penalty minutes.

United is now 3-3. Their next game will be Wednesday, Dec. 13, against Swan Valley.
