Golf team bettered by Flushing
Sams shoots team low
The golf team lost to Flushing 161-178 at the Flint Elks Golf and Country Club on April 16.
Junior Brian Sams led the charge, shooting a team low 42.
This was the Hornets second of four events against Flushing this season, and their only one with a home-course advantage.
Senior Evan Flood had 44 strokes, sophomore Connor Vansteenburg shot a 45, and freshman Jack Vollmar tallied a 47.
Vollmar managed to hit fourth best for the Hornets, despite having golfed for the varsity team only once before.
Flushing’s Joe Montpas shot the low for the event with a 40.
The Hornets next eventĀ is April 28 at Swartz Creek.
