He has participated in AP English Literature and Composition, Intro to Human Communication, Intro to Philosophy, Intro to Africana Studies, Intro to Cultural Anthropology.
“Focusing in class due to distractions,” is the hardest for Fernandez in AP. He said he would not sign up for AP classes if he could go back and change his decision.
On AP classes Fernandez said, “… I don’t like working that much and it goes against my GPA… I would recommend AP [classes] to people who want to go to college and want to excel.”

Fernandez is currently In GCI where he is taking electrical courses “ [After high school] I plan to join an apprenticeship program for electrical work.”
Fernandez is the type of guy who’s always pushing people to be the best version of themselves. He works hard and cherishes the people close to him like his best friend Derek Buterakos, best known as DJ. Fernandez spends time with his girlfriend, Danyella, who he plans to move in with after high school. He is very confident at what he does and he has rewards behind all of that confidence to back it up. He is intelligent as he is ranked top 30 in the class, with a GPA of 3.7.
When asked what sport has shaped Fernandez the most he replied, “cross country because it helped shape my mind to be more determined and focus on other activities and also to be a leader.” As a leader he helps teach middle schoolers swimming and the fundamentals and what it takes to be a hard worker.
When he was asked how he supports his teammates he explained, “showing empathy and showing them what a leader should be, picking them up in difficult situations. Communicate and build a friendly relationship with them.”
Fernandez came to Kearsley in 8th grade and since then he has left an impact on the community. He shows every one his serious character but also that he has a humorous side and can joke in almost any situation. In freshman year Fernandez set a goal for himself to go to states for cross country his senior year. This year, he accomplished that goal, making himself and his parents proud.
