Logan Johnson is the kind of student-athlete who balances dedication in the classroom with commitment on the field. Known around the school for maintaining strong grades while competing in both track and field and football, Johnson has built a reputation for hard work and consistency. As a multi-sport athlete, he spends much of his time training year-round. Right now he has a focus on shot put and discus.
“I lift weights and work on explosiveness, also work on my technique,” Johnson said, explaining how he stays prepared.
Football played a major role in Johnson’s high school experience, not just athletically, but socially. The support of his teammates and the love of the game helped shape his high school years and kept him motivated throughout the season.
“The main thing that got me through football was my friends and I just love the game of football,” he said.
Balancing academics, athletics, and the pressures of his final year was not easy. Johnson said his biggest challenge during senior year was staying focused while managing school and sports.
“The biggest challenge I faced was beating senioritis,” he explained, noting how difficult it was to stay motivated while preparing for life after high school.
Outside of high school sports, Johnson has a strong passion for hunting, a hobby that has been part of his life since childhood.
“I love to hunt, that’s my favorite hobby,” he said. That passion was passed down from his father. “ I have been hunting since I could walk, my dad used to take me out all the time, I killed my first deer at 8 years old.”
As graduation approaches, Johnson reflects on the memories he’s made and the people who made them meaningful. He says he will miss the atmosphere of high school and his close crowd that supported him along the way.
“I’m going to miss my friends and seeing them everyday,” said Johnson, looking back on a high school career filled with hard work, friendships, and lasting memories.
