Nicole Naragon is a thoughtful and outgoing individual who is known for her strong sense of responsibility and positive attitude towards anything she does. Nicole is a part of the class of 2026 and is currently tied for second in the class!
With the amount of extracurricular activities she participates in and difficult classes she partakes in, it is impressive to see how she balances her time to be successful in all she does. Naragon is in many clubs including DECA, Future Problem Solvers (FPS), National Honor Society (NHS), and founder as well as president of HOSA. She also plays tennis during the spring.
When asked what her favorite of those extracurricular activities are, she said,
“ I like HOSA the most because it allows me to connect with others about the healthcare field.”
When Naragon was younger, she wanted to become a doctor. She now plans to become an anesthesiologist. She said, “I really like the work-life balance and what anesthesiologists do, and that’s why I want to go into it.”
She plans to attend either Michigan State or Michigan to help her along the path to become an anesthesiologist. Naragon said, “ I like these schools because of their research academics and the community involvement.”
Naragon is a very driven person to be successful. Most people feel as though they should take easy classes senior year, but Naragon did the opposite, she took 5 AP classes and 4 college classes through the DEEP program at U of M Flint.
I asked her why she is so driven to be successful and she said, “I am the oldest sibling in my family and I want to lead by example to my
younger siblings.”
It is very difficult to take those difficult classes and multiple extracurricular activities, but Naragon makes it look easy. I asked her if she could’ve changed anything in high school. She told me,
“I wish I did soccer or track because I was scared of being bad at sports freshman year.”
This is surprising because she already does a lot of stuff and that would’ve added even more to her packed schedule. It is impressive enough doing that many activities but being successful in the activities is even more impressive.
A lot of people don’t realize the importance of extracurricular activities, they teach you more than just the activity itself. Naragon said, “The extracurricular activities that I do teach me many leadership skills and help me connect with the community.”
Naragon is constantly working toward her goal to become an anesthesiologist. Even in her time off she continues to learn more about subjects of the medical field. When asked what’s something she could talk about without getting bored she answered, “Anything medical related.” This past summer she even participated in this program called MYHEALTH where she conducted research projects and showed others things about researching.
Overall, Naragon’s personality reflects a balance of confidence, kindness, and authenticity. She approaches challenges with an open mind and a lot of interest towards fascinating topics. Her qualities not only shape who she is today but as well as suggesting a future of growth, meaningful connections, and positive impacts on people around her
