Spring sports bloom into action

Sports teams will begin their spring seasons Monday, March 12.

Mr. Paul Gaudard, athletics director, is eager for the spring season to begin.

“The winter season was great, full of plenty of success for our Kearsley teams,” Gaudard said. “However, the spring season is always nice since it is an opportunity to get outside again after being cooped up for several months.

“A new season always brings a lot of excitement and optimism, and I am excited to see our teams perform.”

But Gaudard expects athletes to be students first.

In order to participate in Kearsley’s sports, students must obtain at least a 1.51 GPA.

“The opportunity to represent our school is a privilege reserved for those who take care of business in the classroom first,” Gaudard said.

In addition, all athletes must have had a physical and have the documentation filed with the athletics office in order to participate.

Finally, the annual athletics registration fee is $75 per student. If students receive free or reduced lunch, the cost is lowered to $40.
