United hockey was defeated 8-3 by the Bay Area Thunder on Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Lake Fenton senior Alec Copeland, Kearsley senior Dru Sweers, and Kearsley junior Gerald Balcer each scored their first goals of the season.

Lake Fenton senior Aidan Flick and Kearsley junior Landon Kash each received assists.

Junior Tyler Keller earned a .692 save percentage and allowed all eight of the Thunder’s goals.

Balcer was excited to score his first goal of the season.

“It felt awesome,” Balcer said. “There will be more.”

The team’s three goals are an improvement from the shutout in its first game.

United hockey earned its second loss of the season and is now 0-2-0.

The team’s next game will be Wednesday, Nov. 29, against Fenton/Linden.
