Girls bowling remains undefeated in league play

The girls bowling team took second place at the team’s first Baker tournament in Lansing on Sunday, Dec. 11.

Girls bowling had a eventful weekend, winning two matches and placing second in a tournament. Kearsley is 3-0 in league competition.

League match against Brandon

On Saturday, Dec. 10, the Hornets beat Brandon 26-4. Sophomore Alexis Roof and Freshman Imari Blond performed well and helped bring the team to victory.

Roof bowled 236 in the first Baker game, and Blond bowled 216 in the second Baker game.

The total final pinfall for the match was Kearsley’s 2,267 to Brandon’s 1,820.

League match against Flushing

The Hornets beat Flushing 28-2 on Saturday, Dec. 10.

Blond was the top individual performer, turning in games of 212 and 224 but was not happy with her performance.

“It was OK. I feel like I could have done better,” Blond said.

The total pinfall for this match favored Kearsley 2,333-1,987.

Kick-Off-The-Season Baker Eliminator Tournament

The Hornets placed second in their first Baker tournament on Sunday, Dec. 11, at Royal Scot Lanes in Lansing against eight other schools.

Junior Emma Boychuk did well in helping her team place second. The Hornets fell short to Davison, who took first place in the tournament.

Blond was satisfied with her team’s performance over the weekend and said that the girls did “great, really good” this weekend, and she is “really happy to be on the team.”
