Rose recommends Cardi B’s ‘Invasion of Privacy’

Cardi B’s new album, “Invasion of Privacy,” has 13 songs that reflect Cardi’s famous careless attitude.

This album, released April 6, has features with Migos, Kehlani, 21 Savage, SZA and others.

The songs all have either an R&B feel or trap rap feel to them.

My favorite song on the album is a toss up between “Thru Your Phone” and “I Do.”

These two songs both are catchy and the lyrics are relatable for many girls.

“Thru Your Phone” is about Cardi finding out her man cheated on her by looking through his phone one night.

“I don’t wanna hear about invasion of privacy. I had a feeling all the times that you lied to me,” Cardi raps.

Then she sings, “Everyone was right about you now. I went thru your phone last night, saw some things I didn’t like. I might just cut all the tongues out of your sneakers, smash your TV from Best Buy.”

You can feel Cardi’s emotion as she sings and raps about the hurt this man has caused by cheating on her.

“My heart is beating like its bleeding out,” Cardi sings emotionally. “It’s killing me, killing me, killing me, oh.”

“I Do” talks about how independent these women are. Its powerful lyrics and message will make you feel like the strong independent woman that you are.

SZA starts the song off with a lyric saying her man was left “on read ’cause I felt like it.”

Meaning leaving his texts on “read,” she’s making it clear that she will do what she wants when she wants.

“Spend what I want, ain’t no limit. I say what I want. I ain’t never been timid.”

Cardi raps about not caring about rules, and she brags about her lavish lifestyle.

“Now I’m a boss. I write my own name on the checks.”

SZA is back and sings, “I look fine and my checks divine, no wonder, wonder why I do whatever I like.”

These women make it known that they can and will do whatever they like.

They worked hard to get where they are, and they know what they deserve.

Along with being catchy, these songs are already popular.

“I Like It” and “Be Careful” made it in the top 20 of the Billboard Top 100 by Wednesday, April 25.

After about three weeks of having this album on repeat, I recommend it to anyone that enjoys artists like Nicki Minaj or has liked any of Cardi’s other songs.
