The girls bowling team was happy after sweeping its two matches Saturday, Jan. 21.

The girls bowling team won a pair of matches on Saturday, Jan. 21.

The girls started the day strong against Brandon, with Baker games of 201 and 181 to the Blackhawks’ 154 and 135.

With a 10-0 lead into the individuals, the girls didn’t let up and had team games of 1,023 and 925 to Brandon’s 731 and 737.

Junior Barbara Hawes led the Hornets with a 235.

Sophomores Alexis Roof and Mary Wheeler added high games of 213 and 210, respectively.

The total pinfall was Kearsley 2,330 to Brandon’s 1,757 with a final score of 21-9.

Later that day, the Hornets faced Fenton, winning with a more convincing score of 28-2.

Roof dominated the lanes, throwing a high game of 257.

In addition, junior Karlee Griffin tossed a 232, while junior Emma Boychuk rolled a 222.

They started the match out strong with Baker games of 164 and 212 to Fenton’s 114 and 111.

This put the Hornets in a 10-0 lead into the individual games.

Kearsley bowled 998 and 1,014 team games to Fenton’s 589 and 618, making the total pinfall Kearsley 2,388 to Fenton’s 1,432.

The Hornets are now 10-0 in the season and will bowl against Flushing and Holly on Saturday, Jan. 28, at Clio Bowling Arcade.
