The boys’ track team finished fourth at the Goodrich Invitational on Friday, May 6.

The boys’ track team took fourth at the Goodrich Invitational on Friday, May 6.

Senior Jonathan McKay took first in the 400-meter dash, with a time of 51.30, followed by sophomore Tre’Ron Griffin, in third, with the time of 52.13.

In the 800-meter relay, the Hornets took first with a time of 1:32.55. The winning team consisted of Griffin, McKay, sophomore Taveon Harris, and senior Matt Parkinson.

The Hornets also picked up points with two second-place finishes.

The team consisting of senior Gabe Reese, sophomore Malik Davis, Harris, and McKay took second in the 1600 relay with the time of 3:36.55.

In addition, Parkinson took second in the 300 hurdles in 44.07. He also placed fifth in the 110 high hurdles in 16.78.

Two Hornets scored points with a fourth-place finish. The first was freshman Saif Dawan in the long jump. His distance was 18 feet, 5 inches.

McKay also picked up a fourth-place finish in the 200 dash, sprinting in 23.76. In addition, he was followed up by Griffin, in fifth place, with the time of 23.89.

Griffin also scored in the 100 dash, taking sixth in 11.98.

The boys’ next compete on Wednesday, May 11, against Flushing and Linden at Flushing .
