Everyone has a specific preference when it comes to music types. Some prefer country, rap, or somewhere in between.

Looking for a new song can be difficult,  especially if you don’t know where to look.

Here are a few recently released songs to check out.

“Shape of You” – Ed Sheeran

After taking a break to record his third album, “÷ ,” Sheeran released this single on March 3.

This song is upbeat and tends to be more of a dance beat.

Sheeran provides multiple types of songs through his new album, from upbeat to slow and relaxed music.

“Castle on a Hill” – Ed Sheeran

On the same album as “Shape of You,” this fast-paced song was also released on March 3.

This song is along the lines of Sheerans upbeat hits.

“÷” had many other songs that I would recommend to anyone.

“Paris” – The Chainsmokers

This dance hit was released on April 7.

This song’s like a song you might listen to when hanging out with a group of friends while driving. It is easy to see this song being a song put on a summer playlist.

The Chainsmokers put this song on their album “Memories…Do Not Open,” along with another 11 listen-worthy songs.

“It Ain’t Me” – Kygo & Selena Gomez

Released on Feb. 17, this pop song can be easily be found on the radio.

I was surprised that I hadn’t heard this song before I did. It is catchy and has a confident-feeling meaning.

“Sign of the Times” – Harry Styles

After becoming the fourth member of the boy band “One Direction” to go solo, Styles released this much-anticipated single.

This was the first song to be released from his upcoming album.

“Body Like a Back Road” – Sam Hunt

Hunt’s country career continues with this upbeat single that was released on Feb. 1.

This song is fun to dance to and could easily end up on a summer playlist.

“Good Life” – G-Eazy & Kehlani

Featured in “The Fate of the Furious” movie and the movie’s soundtrack, this song is a mix of hip hop and rap.

The smooth beat and positive meaning leaves this song with potential to be someone’s favorite song.

“No Frauds” – Nicki Minaj

Released on March 10, this song follows Minaj’s typical hits.

Although there is some drama behind this song, the meaning goes beyond it.

This rap song has a relaxed, laid back beat behind the lyrics while keeping the intense feeling that most rap songs have.

So when new music is past due, try jamming out to these songs.
