Mixed Doubles Tournament at Richfield Bowl

Kearsley finished third while hosting its Mixed Doubles Tournament on Sunday, Dec. 27.

Davison won the tournament.

Kearsley’s best mixed double team was Ploof and senior Chad Stephen, finishing in third place.

Four out of nine girls that Kearsley bowled made the All-Tournament team.

Senior Alexxa Flood had the highest three-game series of all the girls in the tournament.

Sophomore Emma Boychuk and seniors Hannah Ploof and Kayla Ward also made the All-Tournament team.

The Hornets entered nine teams into the tournament and seven of the nine teams made the cut into the final 32 teams.

Lila Furnish Classic at Owosso’s Capitol Bowl (Girls)

The girls competed in the Lila Furnish Classic on Sunday, Jan. 3.

The Hornets finished first, with Jackson taking second and Lake Orion placing third.

The girls ended the qualifying round as the No. 2 seed.

Kearsley’s varsity and junior varsity teams competed against each other in a match with the varsity team winning.

Kearsley then advanced and beat Lake Orion.

In the final match of the tournament, the Hornets beat Jackson in the first game 154-146. In the second game, Kearsley downed the Vikings 213-168.

Lila Furnish Classic at Owosso’s Capitol Bowl (Boys)

The boys also participated in the Lila Furnish Classic on Sunday, Jan. 3.

Halfway through the qualifying round, the Hornets were in seventh place. But they turned it on in the next five Baker games, finishing the qualifying round as the No. 2 seed.

However, Kearsley’s day ended quicker than expected.

The Hornets fell to St. Charles 396-346 in the first round.
