Several video games released in late 2015 offer a great experience

New video games have been flying off the shelves since fall, pleasing many gamers.

Some of the top new releases include “Star Wars Battlefront,” “Call of  Duty: Black Ops III,” “Fallout 4,” “Halo 5,” and “NBA 2k16.”

“Star Wars Battlefront”

This action-packed game was released in November. It is based on the Star Wars movie franchise and is the third major release in the “Star Wars Battlefront” series.

In this game, players can travel from planet to planet and, of course, they are planets from the “Star Wars” universe.

Players can also partake in battles. The battles are planet-based so players are unable to leave the planet to explore space during these battles.

Another feature is that players can customize their weapons, characters, and gear.

Players also have the choice of controlling either a Rebel Soldier or an Imperial Storm Trooper.

Senior Elijah McConico is amazed by the new features and feels the characters look better.

“It blows the other Star Wars games out of the water,” McConico said. “It is by far better than any of the previous ones.”

“Call of Duty: Black Ops III”

This science fiction video game was released in November and is the 12th game of the “Call of Duty” series.

This is the sequel to “Call of Duty: Black Ops II.”

The game takes place in 2065, which is 40 years past the end point of “Black Ops II.”

As a response to the drone attack in the end of “Black Ops II,” several countries have set up air defenses that fail because of the advanced technology.

“Black Ops III” is designed to support four player game-play.

It allows for a bigger, more open design and less corridor shooting.

Players are allowed to change their character’s gender, along with their appearance.

The campaign has its own progression system, such as the “unlock tokens,” which can be used to receive different weapons and gear as players move through the game.

There is also a “realistic” difficulty mode. In this mode, players will be defeated if their avatar is hit with one bullet.

Also at the end of each campaign mission, “nightmares” mode can be unlocked, where players can replace the enemies with zombies in the completed missions.

Senior Lance Blight likes the new gear you can earn, like jet packs. He also likes the new paint job features.

Players can create their own paint jobs for weapons and can also add camouflage to their weapons.

Blight said, “I like that you can customize your camo on a part of your weapon.”

“Fallout 4”

This game is the fifth game of the “Fallout” series, released in November.

The game is set after an apocalypse in Boston. The year is 2287, which is 210 years after a horrible nuclear war.

The game play is set up the same way as “Fallout 3.” It is set up in the first- and third-person perspectives.

This game features returning enemies, including mole rats, raiders, super mutants, death claws, and feral ghouls. It also features the companion Dogmeat, along with many others like a Mister Handy robot named Codsworth.

Players can walk anywhere on the map. They can leave a conversation at any time. And also, they can customize their own weapons.

“Halo 5”

This first-person game was released in the end of October. The story follows two super-solider fireteams.

Even though many of the previous features are in “Halo 5,” it also has some new contributions such as the ability to aim downward. Players can also step into a suit called MJOLNIR Armour that is equipped with deflector shields.

Unlike the previous Halo games, “Halo 5” does not have offline capabilities like split-screen and multi-player mode.

It is not like the previous releases of Halo, but some say it is moving in the right direction.

“NBA 2k16”

This basketball simulation video game was released in September. It is the 17th installment in the “NBA 2k” franchise.

This game simulates the experience of NBA players.

Players can play NBA teams or create teams, and they can play in various modes like MyCareer, MyTeam, and standard.

Players can play in regular league games and playoff games. And they can also participate in summer league games.

Players can create their own player and take them through a basketball career with hopes of being the best basketball player of all-time.

The career starts from high school. Then it moves on to college competition. All of this is to get your avatar to level up to an average NBA player.
