Girls’ track loses to Clio
The girls’ track and field team lost to Clio 101-35 at home in a dual meet May 12.
Junior Diane Bond and sophomore Ave’r McKay both finished as the Hornets’ top performers, scoring 7 1/4 points apiece.
Senior Alicia Konsez scored 5 points, while senior Courtney Banks finished with 4.
Konsez was the only open winner for the Hornets, winning the 100-meter hurdles in a time 18.0.
The 1600 relay scored Kearsley’s sole relay victory. The relay team of Bond, junior Emalie Lewis, junior Miranda Lumetta, and McKay ran the race in 4:35.5.
In open events, Bond ran a 1:08.0 in the 400 dash, placing second, and also took second in the 800 dash in 2:49.7.
McKay ran a 13.7 in the 100 dash, finishing second. She also placed second in the 200 dash in 27.6.
