Three DECA students compete in Florida

Three Kearsley students are in Florida, but it’s not to soak up the sun.

The DECA students are attending this year’s 4-day School-based Enterprise competition in Orlando, beginning on April 24.

Senior Zachree Groulx is one of the three students that will be competing, along with senior Kaitlin Dormire and junior Kate Weycker.

“The school-based competition is about how well we present the information we send about our school store,” Groulx said.

They are all excited to be in the competition and represent the Hornet’s Nest.

Dormire said she is looking forward to the competition.

“It gives us an opportunity to win around the world because we’re competing with about 15,000 schools,” Dormire said.

Mrs. Kim Guest, DECA adviser, is excited about it as well.

“They’re going to be learning tips to make our school better, so we can improve our school store operations,” Guest said.

Dormire is confident about the competition.

“I think that we’ll do good,” Dormire said.
