It’s sad but good that schools have to have clubs like the Power of 100

The Power of 100 is a federally mandated organization whose purpose is to remind students that being positive is more productive and effective than being mean.

It is unrealistic to expect people to like every person they come in contact with; however, there’s no reason why individuals cannot respect others as human beings.

“Regardless of our differences, we all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect,” Mrs. Diane Wagoner, Power of 100 adviser, said.

The soul purpose of being mean is to tear down a person’s self-worth or self-esteem, and that is what the Power of 100 is designed to defeat.

“If you have a high self-worth and a positive self-esteem, you would never feel the need to tear someone down,” Wagoner said.

At our age, we are expected to know these things as students.

There should be no reason to have to have a club for it.

The thing that I dislike most about the club is the fact that the purpose of making it was to make sure that students come together to help prevent bullying, which students should be doing in the first place, without it needing to be a federal law.

But the thing I do like is the fact that we can come together and make something negative into something positive.
