Hockey drops game to Avondale/Oxford
KBH United fell to Avondale/Oxford 8-5.
A combined team made up of players from Kearsley, Brandon, and Holly, KBH United played the game Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the Dort Federal Event Center.
In the first period, KBH United played well, leading 2-0.
Both goals were scored by forward Brendan Guziak, a Brandon freshman.
At the end of the second period, the score was tied 3-3.
Avondale/Oxford pulled away in the last period, scoring five goals and winning the game.
Freshman Gerald Balcer, forward, believes the team can play better.
“We need to work on our passing and physicality,” Balcer said. “I think I could keep my head up and get down a little lower.”
The next game will be on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 6:30 p.m. against the Metro League Griffins, which is a combined team from Linden and Fenton.
