Muzzle loading season began Friday, Dec. 4 and will end depending on the licenses location within Michigan.

A muzzle loader is a type of rifle that is loaded through the muzzle of the gun.

In Genesee, muzzle loading ends Sunday, Dec. 20.

Hunters not interested in muzzle loading may hunt during archery season, which started back up on Tuesday, Dec. 1, and will continue until Friday, Jan. 1, in Michigan.

Senior Branden Wade is excited to try muzzle loading season this year.

“I am going to try and hunt this season for muzzle loading,” Wade said. “If I am unable to go muzzle loading, though, I am definitely at least going to bow hunt.”
