There are tons of different genres in music including rock, rap, hip-hop, jazz, and many more.

Students at KHS share the love for music. As you walk through the halls, you’ll notice many students with head phones or air pods, all listening to their favorite music between classes.

Every student has a different music taste that’s unique.

Music is a sense of comfort for some people and that’s why people listen to it so often. For others, music gets them hype and can help them work.

Freshman, Grace Loessel, shares what type of music she listens to.

“If I listen to any music it would have to be country,” Loessel notes.

Music isn’t just something people listen to, music is something that people love for more reasons than it just sounding good.

Freshman, Autumn Shapardon, loves music and comments on her favorite music.

“I listen to a lot of different types, but lately mainly rap. I don’t really have a favorite song at the moment,” Shapardon mentions.

While Neveah Pierce listens to the opposite.

“I like all music, just not most country and rap, my favorite song is ‘Lover’ by Taylor Swift,” Pierce explains.

Music is enjoyed by most people and has a special spot in people’s hearts.

Freshman, Isadore Dean listens to different music styles, but shares his favorite song.

“My favorite song would have to be ‘Tusa’ by Nicki Minaj,” Dean states.

Sophomore, Natalie Devine likes to listen to throwback songs and talks about her favorite.

“My favorite song is ‘Party In the U.S.A. by Miley Cyrus because it just gives me nostalgia,” Devine emphasizes.

Music tastes all depend on a person’s preferences.

No one’s taste in music is wrong; everyone has their own style and expresses it in different ways.
