Kearsley/Clio wins last dual meet of season against Holly

Kearsley/Clio went to Holly Feb. 23 for its last dual swim meet and defeated Holly with a score of 107-70.

The 200-yard medley relay of freshman Noel Nowacki, junior Trent Kehoe, senior Ryan Walker, and senior Brendan Evenson won the first event with a time of 1:59.54.

The same relay team also took first in the 200 freestyle relay with a 1:47.76.

Kearsley/Clio took first in all events besides the 100 freestyle.

Walker, Nowacki, freshman Sabastian Matson-Young, and senior Steve Wilkerson took first for the last event of the night in the 400 freestyle relay with a final time of 4:24.85.

Team captains Evenson and Walker took first in all of four of their events.

Evenson won the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.05, diving with a score of 189.15, the 200 medley relay, and the 200 freestyle relay.

Walker placed first in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, and 400 freestyle relay. Walker also swam the 500 freestyle for the first time and placed first with a time of 6:15.56.

Even the underclassmen stepped up at the swim meet and took first in all of their events.

Kehoe took first in the 200 medley relay, 200 I.M. with a time of 2:33.88, 200 freestyle relay, and the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:13.24.

“I was really happy that we won our third meet of the season. It’s been awhile since we won a meet,” Dever said. “I was also really happy that I dropped six seconds in one of my events. ”

The team will compete in the Metro League meet at Fenton Feb.25, 27, and 28. This will be the team’s last meet of the season.
