Boys basketball picks up two victories in last three games

In the last two weeks the boys basketball team won two of its three games, facing Flushing, Clio, and Brandon.

Kearsley is now 4-5 in the Metro League, and 8-5 overall.

Flushing 

The Hornets scraped by at Flushing, winning 40-38 on Wednesday, Jan. 23.

This is the first time the Hornets have defeated Flushing since the Raiders have entered the Metro League.

Senior Trevor Shaheen scored 14 points for the Hornets, while sophomore Braylon Silvas scored 13 points.

Clio

The Mustangs were victorious against the visiting Hornets by a score of 46-39 on Friday, Jan. 18.

Although falling short, Silvas gave the team a strong boost with 21 points.

Sophomore Jace Chapman added 11 points to the overall score.

Brandon

Kearsley beat Brandon 59-46 in a home game Tuesday, Jan. 15.

Senior Saif Dawan led the team with 16 points, while Silvas scored 15 points.

In addition, Shaheen added 10 points.

The Hornets will face off on Holly’s home court Tuesday, Jan. 29. Holly and Kearsley are tied for 6th in the league.
