Five juniors are eager to begin their final year

As time is passing, senior year is quickly approaching for current juniors.

This means deciding what they want to do with their futures, where they want to attend college, and when they want to begin their careers in higher education.

For some, these decisions may seem difficult. For others, they have been waiting for this moment their entire lives.

Five juniors share their expectations for their final year of high school.

Junior Emma Bishoff is excited to finish her final year at KHS.

Emma Bishoff

What are your plans for your career and what college would you like to attend?

“As of right now, I would like to attend either Ferris State University, the University of Detroit-Mercy, or the University of Alabama to pursue a degree in the medical field,” Bishoff said.

What are you most worried about entering your senior year?

“I’m not really worried about anything about my senior year,” Bishoff said. “I’m just excited to finish my high school career strong.”

What are you most excited about for your final year?

“Graduation,” Bishoff said. “I can’t wait to take the next step toward a good career and a good future.”

Junior Emily Jones hopes to attend UM-Flint  to become an anesthesiologist.

Emily Jones

What are your plans for your career and what college would you like to attend?

“As of right now, I would like to attend UM-Flint to obtain my bachelor’s degree, then, hopefully, continue on to become an anesthesiologist,” Jones said.  “I’m planning on staying home for my first year of college in hopes of moving out after my freshman year.”

What are you most worried about entering your senior year?

“Personally, I’m not worried about senior year,” Jones said. “The only thing I am dreading is the senioritis.”

What are you most excited about for your final year?

“I’m most excited about entering my senior year because we’re now top of the class,” Jones said. “I’m also eager to graduate with all of my friends and seeing everyone grow up.”

Kyle Langworthy

Junior Kyle Langworthy is excited to have a year without stress.

What are your plans for your career and what college would you like to attend?

“My plans after college are to go the University of Michigan (in) Ann Arbor to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering.”

What are you most worried about entering your senior year?

“I am not worried about senior year because I believe it will be a fun year,” Langworthy said.

What are you most excited about for your final year?

“I am excited to have a year without stress on classes,” Langworthy said. “I also am excited to graduate.”

Zach Moore

Junior Zach Moore plans to attend Central Michigan University and to join the Navy.

What are your plans for your career and what college would you like to attend?

“My future plans are to join the United States Navy,” Moore said. “I still am undecided whether I want to go active duty or reserves, but I plan to attend college and Central Michigan University.”

What are you most worried about entering your senior year?

“Entering senior year, I am most worried about the senior exit project because that seems like a lot of work,” Moore said.

What are you most excited about for your final year?

“I am most excited about growing up and finishing school,” Moore said. “Also, I am excited for co-op, so I only have to be at school for four hours a day.”

Junior Chloe Vollmar is eager to start the next chapter of her life.

What are your plans for your career and what college would you like to attend?

“As of right now, I want to go to Grand Valley State University to become an occupational therapist,” Vollmar said.

What are you most worried about entering your senior year?

“Everything,” Vollmar said. “It’s scary because it proves how fast time goes by. Freshman year seemed like yesterday.”

What are you most excited about for your final year?

“I’m most excited to leave KHS,” Vollmar said. “I love KHS and it has been my home for the past three years, but I am excited to start the next chapter of my life.”
