Girl’s bowling defeated Holly 29-1

The girls’ bowling team beat Holly 29-1 at Grand Blanc Lanes on Tuesday, Dec. 8.

Holly was handicapped by the fact that they only had four bowlers but chose to compete anyway instead of forfeiting the match.

The Hornets won both Baker games, giving them a 10-0 lead before the individual games.

In the first individual game, Kearsley got all nine points, shooting a 901. However, in the second individual game, Kearsley only received eight out of the nine points, ending with 845 pins.

The top bowlers were senior Hannah Ploof, with games of 220 and 224, and sophomore Barbara Hawes, who knocked down 181 pins in the first game and 183 in the second game.

Ploof felt that the team got some experience from the match.

“I don’t think it was the team’s best performance, but I think they got a learning experience out of it,” Ploof said.

The team next competes at the Bangor John Glenn Holiday Tournament, which starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12.
