Linden shuts out the soccer team

The soccer team lost its first game of the season to Linden on Wednesday, Sept. 16, being outscored 6-0.

After giving up four goals in the first half. the Hornets’ defense improved in the second half, only allowing two goals.

Junior Tony Doolan and senior Jacob Moore performed well in the keeper’s box, combining for 15 saves.

Doolan was grateful for the defensive help from his team.

“The defense definitely played better in the second half,” Doolan said.

The Hornets fell to 3-1, losing their first conference game this season.

Their next game is Monday, Sept. 21, at home against Flushing.
