Tennis drops match against Swartz Creek

The tennis team lost to the Swartz Creek Dragons 8-0  Thursday, Sept. 10.

Even though no Hornet won a set, some won at least one game.

No. 1 singles player senior Santino Guerra won a game in the first set.

No. 2 singles player senior Jacob DePottey won a game in the second set.

Seniors Lance Blight, No. 3 singles, and Josh Walter, No. 4 singles, lost their matches, 2-6, 1-6.

The No. 1 doubles team of junior Dante Schwartz and sophomore Meteo Booth won two games in their first set.

The No. 3 doubles team of sophomores Adam Sefa and Jacob Jackson lost their match, 2-6, 3-6.

Freshmen Dalton Roberts and Kristopher Perry, No. 4 doubles, won a game in their second set.

Coach Jared Rawls believes his team is “drastically” improving.

“The players fought really hard,” Rawls said. “Compared to last year, we are much better.”

The Hornets’ next match is at Southwestern on Friday, Sept. 11.
