The referee prepares to drop the puck at center ice for a faceoff between KBH United and Swartz Creek/Clio.

KBH United defeated Swartz Creek/Clio with 7-4 on Dec. 17.

In the first period of the game, KBH United, which is a combined team for Kearsley, Brandon, and Holly high schools, scored two goals.

Junior Kross Kenny, foward, scored the first goal, assisted by senior Shawn Larsen and Brandon senior Derek Nishek.

With only 23.7 seconds left in the period, senior Evan Flood, foward, assisted Larsen’s goal to make the score 2-0.

At the beginning of the second period, Swartz Creek/Clio scored to pull within a goal. But, not long after, Kenny scored his second goal of the game unassisted.

Swartz Creek/Clio took the lead by the end of period, scoring three goals in a row and making the score 3-4.

In the third period, Flood scored two goals, the first one assisted by Holly senior Scottie Brauer and Nishek. The second goal was assisted by Brauer again.

Close to the end of the third period, KBH United Scored twice.

One shot was made by Brandon junior Kirk Wells, assisted by Brauer and Holly junior Jesse Zorn.

Kenny scored the final goal of the game, completing his hat trick.
