The Wind Ensemble spreads the Christmas spirit

Kearsley High School’s Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, and Symphonic Band performed their Christmas concert on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2021.

The bands have been practicing hard for months for their first show in 2 years because of the global pandemic.

Junior Thomas Brewer III was proud of the performance.

“It was a great performance after not being on the stage for 2 years,” Brewer said, “the music was super challenging and I’m glad we played it super well.”

The Jazz Band is a group of students who take two afternoons out of their week to practice just to entertain the audience.

Every member of the Jazz Band is also a member of either the Wind Ensemble or the Symphonic Band meaning they have more music to learn and master in time for their performances.

Senior Jack Sterling enjoys playing in the Jazz Band.

“It’s fun playing jazz music.” said Sterling “It’s a real change in pace from the regular concert music. All of the music is harder making it more of a challenge to learn, which I enjoy.”

The Bands will be playing again Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022.
