Girls basketball beat Fenton 46-37 in a Metro League matchup Friday, Jan. 10.

Upperclassmen took control of the game.

Senior Kamryn Palka led the Hornets with 15 points, six rebounds, and three steals.

Senior Sydney Walker pitched in 10 points and eight rebounds.

Senior JaKeira Wash obtained nine points, seven assists, and four steals.

Junior Saniaa Walker brought in seven points, two assists, four rebounds, and seven steals.

Senior Markayla Shannon chipped in with five points, four rebounds, and three steals.

Palka feels the team played up to pace.

“I think the game went really well,” Palka said. “We worked together and had a good energy throughout the whole game.”

The second half saw the Hornets pick up their game.

“The biggest turning point in the game was the third quarter,” Palka said. “We were able to outwork and outscore the other team.”

They are now 5-3 overall and 4-0 in the Metro League.

The Hornets will be back on the court Tuesday, Jan. 14, at home against Clio.
