Prescott, Langworthy honored for SAT scores

The SAT is a standardized test that is set in place to measure a students college readiness.

For seniors Autumn Prescott and Kyle Langworthy, this test came easy.

The two were honored at the Flint Metro League All-Academic breakfast on Monday, April 22, at Fenton High School.

Principal Brian Wiskur feels the two are extremely clever and have bright futures.

“I think our top 10 at Kearsley can compete with any school when it comes to the students’s SAT scores and GPA’s,” Wiskur said. “These two are outstanding and high achievers. They are destined for success.”

Langworthy earned a 1,380 on the test, scoring a 730 in math and a 650 in evidence-based reading and writing.

He took the standardized PSAT offered by the high school and took the SAT prior to Kearsley’s test date.

“I feel that taking advantage of these resources prepared me for the actual test day,” Langworthy said. “I believe that it allowed for me to score much higher.”

Prescott scored a 1,310; composing of a 630 in math and a 680 in evidence-based reading and writing.

To prepare, Prescott took advantage of her resources and used Khan Academy to practice.

“I spent a lot of time completing tests on Khan Academy,” Prescott said. “I focused mainly on Algebra as it was not my strong suit.”
