A variety of activities fill a student’s snow day

I shoveled snow on my day off.

Monday, Feb. 2

When the school called to announce its closure, I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we were all happy about the news.

For many students, such as myself, this meant that we had more time to do our homework assignments.

However, I did get some stuff done.

I filled out an application for a passport and took it to the post office with a recent photo of myself. I’m going to Spain with the Spanish class in June and the day off from school gave me the chance to get everything done without having to wait in a long line.

In addition, I helped my parents shovel the driveway. After some hard work, we finally cleared out the driveway and came inside to drink some hot chocolate while watching some relaxing television.

With a day off, I also got a little time to get away from the stress and overall exhaustion that school can bring.

I also enjoyed cuddling with my dog, Sadie. She helped keep me warm and get in some much needed rest.

In summary, snow days can be good on occasion, but if they start to happen too frequently we could find ourselves still in school long after June 12.
