Many families celebrate Easter Sunday in different ways. Easter is a time of family, candy, the Easter Bunny, church visits, and many other things.

Depending on what they believe, some people wake up to find Easter baskets and search for Easter eggs the Easter Bunny hid around the house.

Senior Bailey Douglas and his family celebrate this way.

“We do Easter eggs and hide them,” Douglas said. “We get a basket full of candy and have Easter dinner.”

Senior Karinna Glandon also celebrates Easter in this way.

“My family comes to my house and we open Easter baskets,” Glandon said. “Then we have Easter dinner and have an Easter egg hunt.”

Other families have bigger celebrations like cookouts.

Senior Armani Maupin and her family have a cookout and family visitation.

“Me and my family go to Richfield Park and have a big cookout,” Maupin said. “Then we have a big Easter egg hunt for both kids and adults.”

Sophomore Tarryn Whitman also has a get together with family. Her whole family goes to her grandma’s.

“We get together on Easter and have a big Easter dinner at my grandma’s house,” Whitman said.

There are also families that head to church early Sunday morning before all of the festivities begin.

Senior Gracie Garfi-Sharber and her family go to church and have dinner.

“My whole family and I get up every Easter Sunday and go to church. It’s tradition,” Garfi-Sharber said. “Then we have a great dinner together that we are hosting at my house this year.”
