Tennis ties C-A in season opener

Senior Alysa Figgins, No. 3 singles player, won her match, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, against Carman-Ainsworth on Wednesday, March 30.

The tennis team played its first match of the season, tying Carman-Ainsworth 4-4.

The Hornets played on the road Wednesday, March 30.

Senior Alysa Figgins, at No. 3 singles, won her match in a tie-breaker, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3

At No. 4 singles, junior Hannah Brackin defeated her opponent within the first two sets, 6-4, 6-4.

The No. 2 doubles team of Aysia Booth, senior, and Stephanie Lane, freshman, also won their match, 6-4, 6-3.

And to wrap up the wins for KHS, senior Jordan Gohs and junior Bree Rosenbum, No. 3 doubles team, won with the best score, 6-3, 6-1.

Figgins was happy with how her team performed.

“Everyone played very well,” Figgins said. “It was a great first match to the season.”

Kearsley’s next match is at Durand on Tuesday, April 12, at 4 p.m.
