Junior Santino Guerra was recently elected to the Michigan DECA Board of Officers. His title is now vice president of chapter development.

Guerra and the rest of the Kearsley DECA team competed at the Michigan DECA State Conference March 13-15.

Twelve other candidates ran against Guerra, but his campaign was strong enough to land him a good position on the board.

Guerra was happy with his results at the DECA conference.

“I did very well,” Guerra said. “My speech well-represented my future plans for DECA.”

As a vice president of chapter development, Guerra is in charge of expanding DECA to new chapters and developing existing chapters in order to improve the experience each DECA member can have.

As vice president, Guerra said he will “help develop memberships and chapter participation.”

Guerra’s campaign manager, Senior Trent Tuttle, is thrilled with how well Guerra performed at the conference.

“I’m very proud of Santino,” Tuttle said. “His determination and his charisma, plus his intelligence, resulted in a victory for Kearsley DECA.”

Guerra’s plans were big while running, but they will only grow from here now that he has achieved his goal.
