Girls basketball won against Flushing 48-46 Friday, Dec. 13.

Senior JaKeira Wash led the Hornets with 18 points, three assists, and two steals. Wash also made the game-winning shot.

Junior Saniaa Walker pitched in with five points, four assists, four steals, and six rebounds.

Senior Sydney Walker brought in 14 points, six steals, and five rebounds.

Senior Kamryn Palka chipped in with eight points and five rebounds.

Wash believes that the Hornets performed their best during their last game.

“That game was our best one yet,”Wash said. “We played our hearts out.”

Wash dedicated the game to her late uncle, so she is pleased to have won the game for him.

“I dedicated this game to my uncle who recently passed,” Wash said, “so to know that I made that shot and won the game for him was the best feeling ever.”

The Hornets are 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the Metro League. They will host Goodrich Tuesday, Dec. 17.
