Baseball ties two in last four games

The baseball team had two doubleheaders against two non-league teams last week.

In a strange twist for baseball, the Hornets won one, lost one, and tied two of their games.

Kearsley’s record stands at 1-4-2.

Lapeer

Kearsley fell short against Lapeer on Wednesday, April 17.

The Hornets could not overcome the Lightning in the first game, losing 12-4.

Junior Ethan Livingston and senior Dustin Bennett both had two hits and contributed to Kearsley’s score.

In the night cap, sophomore Kody Easton pitched a shutout and gave up only two hits, but the Hornets couldn’t score either, and the game ended 0-0.

Lansing Waverly

The Hornets split their games with Lansing Waverly on Monday, April 15.

Kearsley took the first game 5-1 and tied the second 4-4.

Easton and sophomore Bailey Palmer both earned two hits for the team in the opener.

In the second game, Easton led the way with three hits.

Bennett and senior Marshall Judd assisted in both games, bringing in two hits apiece.

The Hornets will play again on Monday, April. 22, against the Clio Mustangs.
