Girls bowling stings Fenton, Blond wins singles tournament

Junior Imari Blond won the S & R Singles Tournament at Monitor Lanes in Bay City on Sunday, Feb. 10.

The girls bowling team spent its weekend going against league competitor Fenton and participated in the S & R Singles Tournament at Monitor Lanes in Bay City.

Kearsley still sits atop the Metro League at 15-0

Fenton

The Hornets defeated the Tigers 25-5 on Saturday, Feb. 9.

The final pinfall was 2,249-1,667.

Kearsley split the Bakers games as it defeated Fenton 146-109 and then fell short 147-118.

Claiming eight of the nine in the first individual matches, the Hornets beat the Tigers 973-720.

The girls then won all nine matches in the second round of individual games, winning 1,012-691.

Senior Alexis Roof led the team in individuals, throwing games of 194 and 238.

Allison Eible, sophomore, followed closely behind, rolling games of 206 and 200.

Junior Samantha Timm assisted with games of 205 and 173, while sophomore Emilea Sturk’s threw a 211.

S & R Singles Tournament

The Hornets traveled to Bay City on Sunday, Feb. 10, to participate in the S & R Singles Tournament.

Junior Imari Blond took first in the tournament, defeating Eible in an all-Kearsley final 256-176.

This was Blond’s second straight victory in the tournament.

Roof and Timm also made it into the top 10.

The Hornets’ next competition is Monday, Feb. 11, at Grand Blanc Lanes against Clio.
