Senior Rachel Miller is a photogenic and stunning girl.

She has dark chocolate brown hair and a bright smile.

Her voice has a sassy tone, but her manners make up for it.

She is always looking out for others and putting them before herself.

“I love helping others. You don’t know what other people are going through,” Miller said. “Seeing people down hurts my heart. I want people to know they are loved and remind them of what makes them beautiful.”

Miller has over 135 hours of community service.

She has spent her time volunteering at her church and several events.

Miller is most content when she’s with her family.

“I feel the happiest when I’m with my friends and family,” Miller said. “We laugh until we cry and talk about our favorite memories we have made together.”

Senior Taylor Rathburn met Miller at the age of 10 through Girl Scouts.

Miller has helped Rathburn with her struggles tremendously.

“Rachel was there for me when my grandma passed away,” Rathburn said. “She helped me realize I was not alone.”

Rathburn said Miller is a caring person.

“Rachel is a good person,” Rathburn said. “As soon as she sees anyone struggling with anything, she immediately tries to help them as much as she can.”

Senior Emma Boychuk and Miller met in middle school.

Boychuk said Miller helps her stay strong and positive.

“Rachel helped me stay strong when I lost someone in my family,” Boychuk said. “Rachel is a positive person and will help me with absolutely anything if I need it.”

Miller plans to attend junior college this upcoming fall.

“I want to be a clinical therapist,” Miller said. “I want to help people everyday. My plan is to attend Mott Community College to get my basics done and later transfer to U of M-Flint.”

Miller participates in bowling.

“Bowling helps me cope with my anxiety and stress,” Miller said.

Miller enjoys photography, hanging out with friends, and spending time with her family.

She also enjoys listening to music and watching Netflix.

“I enjoy listening to artists like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and Justin Timberlake,” Miller said. “Some of my favorite TV shows are Grey’s Anatomy and Blue Bloods.”

Miller has endured a great amount of pain.

“A struggle I faced was when my big sister took her life,” Miller said. “Being away on vacation with my best friend and receiving the call that my sister was no longer with us still breaks my heart everyday.”

Miller said her friends and teachers have helped her stay strong.

“Going to see a therapist has helped me get my emotions out in a healthy way,” Miller said, “along with venting to my friends and teachers.”

To end the interview, Miller told me how she looks up to her mother, Mrs. Vicky Miller.

“I look up to my mom because she is independent and strong,” Miller said. “She tries to do everything by herself before she asks for help. She has been through the worst and she continues to push through it all. I aspire to be just like her in that sense.”
