Cheer stunts their way to third place at league competition

Kearsley took third place at a league cheer competition hosted by Fenton on Jan. 28.

Brandon won the competition, trailed by Clio.

With a total score of 703.34 points, Kearsley had a 14.04 point lead over Linden.

Kearsley earned a score of 225.1 points for round one, 201.54 points for round two, and 284.7 points for round three.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Alburtus said she was pleased with the team’s performance and is optimistic that the team will get even better at the end of the season.

“Even though we placed third, I can tell the whole team is stepping it up,” Alburtus said. “We’re going to achieve our goals within these last few weeks.”

Kearsley’s next competition is Jan. 31 at Grand Blanc.
