Five sophomores describe friends’ impact on their lives

Friends are known for being a very influential support system for people of all ages.

Five sophomores that attend KHS tell about qualities they see in their friends and how they positively impact their lives.

Abbigale Bellmer, sophomore

What’s a quality you look for in a friend? 

“I look for people who are just kind, all-around people because whoever you surround yourself with will impact how you act and how you feel,” Bellmer said.

What makes your friends special to you? Why? 

“My friends are special to me because they are the best people I’ve ever met in my whole life and have always been there for me,” Bellmer said.

How do your friends positively impact your lives? 

“My friends are everything, and no matter what happens they are always there for me and point me in the right direction,” Bellmer said.

Madison Burroughs, sophomore

What’s a quality you look for in a friend? 

“I look for someone who genuinely cares about me,” Burroughs said. “I’ve had friendships in the past that seemed very one-sided, so it’s important to me to have someone who cares for me as much as I care for them.”

What makes your friends special to you? Why?

“My friends are special to me because they’ve always been there for me,” Burroughs said. “At this point in my life, the friends that I have now have been with me through so much and I feel like I can trust them with anything.”

How do your friends positively impact your lives? 

“My friends have impacted my life by always being there for me,” Burroughs said. “Even when I’m at my lowest and I’m struggling with things like anxiety and stress, they’re always there to help me through it.”

Alyssa Desgrange, sophomore

What’s a quality you look for in a friend?

“A big quality I look for in a friend is respect,” Desgrange said. “I look for respect because without it you cannot build a relationship with that friend, and without respect, the friendship is truly miserable.”

What makes your friends special to you? Why?

“My friends are special because they’ve been my friends for a long time now, and we know each other better than we know ourselves,” Desgrange said.

How do your friends positively impact your lives?

“My friends positively affect my life because they keep me on track and influence me to make the right choices,” Desgrange said.

Dakota Tuck, sophomore

“The quality I look for most is probably just a positive attitude,” Tuck said.

What makes your friends special to you? Why?

“What makes my friends special to me is they have respect for me,” Tuck said. “We always have a good time.”

How do your friends positively impact your lives?

“My friends impact my life by having good times together,” Tuck said. “We all laugh and joke around and just be ourselves.”

Colton Joseph, sophomore

“A quality I look for in a friend is a good sense of humor,” Joseph said.

What makes your friends special to you? Why?

“My friends are special to me because if I need anything they’re here,” Joseph said.

How do your friends positively impact your lives?

“My friends positively impact my life by doing reckless stuff with me,” Joseph said.

Finding good qualities in people make for good friends. Friends impact you everyday, and they form a special bond with you.

Everyone needs a good friend to share moments, spend time, and have a laugh with.
