Five freshmen share thoughts on high school so far

As the school year goes on, everything turns into a basic routine for the average student at KHS.

Students are used to the everyday activities going on and have adapted to the high school routine — even the freshmen.

Adapting to the high school at first was a struggle for many freshmen, but now many of them seem to enjoy it.

Five students have answered questions about what’s been the most enjoyable thing about high school so far.

Do you like the change from middle school to high school? Why?

“I love the change from middle school to high school. Most kids my age have gotten more mature and there’s less drama,” Brown said. “Upperclassmen seem to be more focused on their personal goals in life, and it reflects onto students my age.”

Do you like the change from middle school to high school? Why?

“I like the change from middle school to high school because high school has more freedom than Armstrong,” Perkins said. “You don’t get stopped by teachers because you have your phone out, or you don’t get stopped by teachers because they saw you hug somebody. They didn’t trust you with anything at the middle school, but at the high school they’re way more lenient, and I like that.”

What’s your favorite part of high school?

“My favorite part of high school so far has been making new friends, especially with the juniors and seniors. When you have classes with more than one grade you get to know different people.”

What’s been your most memorable moment of freshman year so far? Why?

“My favorite memory of freshman year so far has definitely been homecoming week and the dance. Spirit week was much more fun, and the dance was even more fun than spirit week,” Perkins said. “Overall, high school has been pretty good.”
