Snowcoming week brings school spirit to KHS in the winter

This year’s snowcoming dance will be Saturday, Feb. 11, from 7 to 11 p.m. in the high school gym.

Tickets for the dance will be sold at lunch starting Monday, Feb. 6.

To get students more involved in Snowcoming, there will be spirit days for the school week before the dance:

  • Monday- Twin day. Dress to match a friend.
  • Tuesday- Tropical day. Wear your Hawaiian clothes.
  • Wednesday- Wacky Wednesday. Mismatch your outfit.
  • Thursday- Class colors. Sport your Kearsley spirit. Seniors wear blue, juniors gold, sophomores gray, and freshmen black.
  • Friday- Snow day. Dress wearing snowsuits, snow pants, hats, gloves, etc.

The Senior Class is also putting on “powertuff,” which is a volleyball tournament for boys.

On Thursday, Feb. 9, at 5:30 in the gym, freshmen will play juniors and sophomores will play seniors in the first powertuff games. The winners will then play each other the same night.

The winners will play against the staff during a pep assembly Friday, Feb. 10.

Senior Cami Clarambeau, class president, is excited to raise money for the Senior Class.

“All the money from snowcoming and powertuff will go to the 2017 prom,” Clarambeau said. “This is the first year we have powertuff and the spirit days for snowcoming, and I hope it gets more students involved.”
