The tennis team lost its match against Owosso 5-3 on Friday, April 22.

The only players to end their matches victorious were singles players.

At No. 1 singles, senior Lindsay Nofs won her match in the first and third sets 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.

Senior Alysa Figgins, at No. 3 singles, won her match 6-2, 6-4.

At No. 4 singles, junior Hannah Brackin snagged another win for Kearsley in the second and third sets 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Nofs was excited to win “such a close match.”

“The girl I was playing against was very nice, so the match was a lot of fun,” Nofs said. “It was a close game, but in the end I came out with a solid victory. I hope I play just as well at the next match.”

The Hornets’ next match is Monday, April 25, at home against Fenton.
