Juniors, underclassmen round out homecoming court

Homecoming court consists of three representatives from the Junior Class, two from the Sophomore Class, and two from the Freshman Class.

The junior court consists of three members: Kayla Meyer, Brandi Morgan, and Nickole Sarginson.

The Sophomore Class has Lia Silvas and Kaitlyn VanOotheghem on court.

Finally, the freshmen are represented by Mackenzie Ramey and Chloe Vollmar.

The Eclipse asked each court member to give background information about herself.

 Junior Representatives

Kayla Meyer

Meyer is 17 years old.

Her parents are Sarah Quedens and Andrew Meyer.

Meyer loves to send time playing sports.

“I have played volleyball since seventh grade,” Meyer said, “and I have played softball since I was 4 years old.”

She played soccer until her freshman year.

Meyer also loves to be outdoors.

“I spend time with my friends and family,” Meyer said. “Also I am so grateful to be on the Junior Class homecoming court.”

Brandi Morgan

Morgan is 16 years old and lives with her mom and dad.

Her older sister, Haleigh, is an alumna of Kearsley.

“Haleigh is my best friend,” Morgan said.

Morgan loves playing basketball and going golfing in her spare time.

Spending time with family is essential to Morgan’s everyday life.

“They make me laugh and smile no matter what,” Morgan exclaimed. “I am very thankful for them and also to have this opportunity to represent my Junior Class.”

Nickole Sarginson

Sarginson is 15 years old and lives with her mother, Jodie.

“My mom is my best friend.” Sarginson said.

Her father’s name is Nick.

Sarginson enjoys spending time with friends and family.

“I love my grandparents and all of my little cousins,” Sarginson said, “especially my little cousin, Arika.”

Sarginson participated in gymnastics and softball in middle school.

Sarginson has went to Kearsley her whole life.

 

Sophomore Representatives

Lia Silvas 

Silvas is 15 years old and lives with her parents.

She has two brothers and one sister.

One of her brothers is attending Mott Community College and the other is in seventh grade.

Silvas’ sister is in fifth grade.

Silvas likes to dance.

Her mother runs a daycare center, and Silvas likes to help out.

Silvas said she would like to become an orthodontist.

Kaitlyn VanOoteghem

VanOoteghem is 16 years old and lives with her mom, dad, brother, and sisters.

She is one of a sister of triplets.

Her brother attends the University of Michigan.

“I am proud of him” VanOoteghem said.

VanOoteghem cheers, plays volleyball, and runs track.

She spends time with friends when she can and is very helpful.

“I like helping out at my mom’s work and babysitting.” VanOoteghem said.

Freshmen Representatives

Mackenzie Ramey

Ramey is 14 years old, and she said her family is very small.

“Even though my family is really small,” Ramey said, “we all have lots of love for one another and we are all very close. I tell them everything.”

She enjoys playing sports, but volleyball and basketball are her favorites.

On her free time, she hangs out with her friends and family.

“I am very energetic, different, and also very loving,” Ramey said.

Chloe Vollmar

Vollmar is 14 years old and lives with her mom, dad, and brother.

She has two brothers and one sister.

Vollmar likes to play volleyball, basketball, and run track.

She is also involved in Student Council.

“I love to spend time with my family, friends, and play sports,” Vollmar said.
