We are excited to welcome Kayla Coburn to Kearsley High School. As our new security guard, she will help keep our school a safer, more positive, and welcoming place for everyone.
I chose to interview Mrs. Coburn so students could get to know her more! Mrs. Coburn has a history with security, but I was more interested in why Kearsley.
“The school schedule is nice, and I get to be more involved in my daughter’s district as well,” said Mrs. Coburn.
As we spoke, I realized that Mrs. Coburn is devoted to her family and her students. Every day, Mrs. Coburn is in the halls and helping out whenever she is needed, showing a devotion to her work. She strives to build relationships with her students and create a safe environment.
Mrs. Coburn said, “I enjoy creating personal relationships with all of the students, they can tell me about their day and feel comfortable talking to me, while also feeling safe at school.”
Throughout our time talking, Mrs. Coburn showed herself as a passionate individual, speaking in depth on the importance of safety and comfort between staff and student.
“It is truly important to be kind! You don’t realize how words impact people every single day. If people feel safer in school, then the safety measures will be easier,” Coburn said.
Overall, Mrs. Coburn is a passionate, kind, and devoted member of Kearsley Staff. On behalf of the student body, I’d like to give a warm welcome to Mrs. Coburn! We’re glad to have you here and appreciate everything you do to keep our school safe and running smoothly. If you see her in the halls, don’t be afraid to say hello.
