The energy at a concert is unmatched with the lights, music, dancing, and the bonds you make with new friends. As the crowd sings along, you realize it’s more than a concert; it’s a moment you’ll carry with you forever. A concert can begin new friendships with strangers simply because you both share the same love for the artist you are seeing live.
I personally have been to ten concerts so far and it’s one of my favorite things to do. I have even flown out of state for a concert because it combined two things that I adore; concerts and traveling. I’ve been to Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Stephen Sanchez, The Weeknd, The Driver Era, Benson Boone in Michigan, Benson Boone in Florida, Zach Bryan, Sombr, and I’m seeing Del Water Gap in February. Every concert I’ve been to has been accompanied by the people I love. I often go with my sister Hannah, my best friend Ella, and my mom. The sensation of the lights dimming and the first note playing is a feeling that never gets old. I will cherish and reminisce on the excitement I feel along with the other fans in the crowd.
Each show has its own atmosphere from packed stadiums with hundreds of thousands of people to small venues where you are only a few feet away from the artist. The mix of anticipation, music, and exhilarating crowd around you is captivating. No matter the size of the venue, the amount of people there, or the location, each concert is extraordinary in its own unique way.
Mr. Hewitt, a teacher and coach at KHS stated, “I went to the Thomas Rhett concert and I loved it. Before the concert I was able to watch a golf tournament, and during the concert I hung out with my wife. It was a lot of fun and definitely one of my favorite concerts I’ve ever been to.”
When asked about the energy and atmosphere of the show, Hewitt expressed, “It was a pretty chill and laid back concert, but there were a lot of people there. Obviously, there were songs played that were more upbeat and fast which made people more hype and rowdy, but the slow songs made the crowd more relaxed and calm.” Concerts are a memorable experience no matter what the energy is like, and Mr.Hewitt was able to experience both calm and exciting.
Junior, Xaiver Young, recently went to the Tate McRae concert with one of his friends. “The Tate McRae concert was at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit and every seat was taken by a fan. There were so many people there but it added to the experience of seeing my favorite artist live because you know you fit in with everyone around you,” Young explained.
The atmosphere of many concerts can be constant excitement and fans may feel a rush of adrenaline with every beat of the songs. When asked about how the concert made him feel, Young commented, “Tate made the concert feel personal to everyone because of the way she interacted with the entire crowd. A lot of artists only interact and focus on the front row only, but Tate made us feel included and comfortable even though we sat really high up in the stands.”
Each concert is more than just listening to music; it’s the connection between strangers, the echo of all the voices joining together to sing along with the artist, and the feeling of being alive and living in the moment. Concerts have a way of bringing different feelings together, just in the few hours spent there. The anticipation, joy, and emotion felt during the concert is magical and unforgettable.
