Tennis takes fourth at Lapeer quad
Greer, Harper team up for second place in doubles
The Hornets took fourth place at the Lapeer tennis quad that included Carman-Ainsworth and Swartz Creek on April 18.
Senior Angie Greer and sophomore Emily Harper, at No. 3 doubles, finished in second place.
Four teams playing doubles and one player in singles all took third place.
At No. 3 singles, previously undefeated, junior Alysa Figgins had her streak broken.
The other third-place finishers were juniors Jasmine Patrick and Kelsie Rose at No. 1 doubles; sophomore Bree Rosenbum and junior Aysia Booth, No. 2 doubles; senior Mackenzie Chappell and junior Taylor Stockton at No. 4 doubles; and junior Kayla Smith and sophomore Hannah Brackin at No. 6 doubles.
Coach Corey Fisher was proud of the team’s performance at the quad.
“We had people finish higher than we have had in past years,” Fisher said. “Hopefully, the team keeps improving.”
The team’s next match is at Fenton on April 21.
